Hollow Knight: Silksong is currently in development for PC and Switch.E3 2021 will undoubtedly feature several big announcements but it looks like any news on Hollow Knight: Silksong won’t be among them. Sadly, it looks as though Silksong fans are just going to have to continue holding out for more news surrounding the title. While Elden Ring and Silksong will likely share more than just a lack of news, seeing as Hollow Knight's influence from the Souls series is clear, for now fans of both titles are simply bonding through the lack of news. One fan going by the username Buttertoto2002 made a joke remarking that "At least I've still got Elden Ring to be disappointed about when it's not at E3." Comparisons between Hollow Knight: Silksong and Elden Ring have been made for some time now, with many memes addressing how both fanbases have been starved for significant news since each game's reveal. Many posts on the Hollow Knight subreddit thread that was created surrounding Griffin's Discord thread were respectful of the news, with some fans finding the morbid humor in the lack of news surrounding Silksong at large. Still, fans seem to be taking the news fairly well, all things considered. Sorry everyone, but there sadly won't be anything at E3 this year. As such, fans have certainly gotten antsy regarding how things are coming along with Silksong's development. Though, it's still important to keep in mind that Edge's coverage was four months ago, which is a decent chunk of time for no other significant news to surface about the game since. Thanks to Edge's coverage, fans learned a ton of new details about the game and about what other projects Team Cherry has been working on aside from Hollow Knight: Silksong. In fact, one of the most recent information blowouts from Hollow Knight: Silksong came from Edge Magazine's December 31 issue. However, Silksong did not make an appearance and Nintendo's Indie Showcase, and hasn't surfaced much at all since its reveal. Fans have been hoping for news surrounding the game at nearly every digital event for months now, such as recently hoping to see Silksong surface at Nintendo's Indie Showcase event in April. Griffin's message, which states that the developer "does not have any announcements/blogs scheduled for E3 this year," appears to have been meant to temper fans expectations with E3 2021 on the horizon. The news comes by way of Matthew Griffin, the aforementioned member of Team Cherry, through Discord. RELATED: E3 Fans Are Speculating About What Might Appear At the Show Sadly, it looks like the waiting game will continue for a bit, as a member of Team Cherry's marketing and publishing team has confirmed that no news will come from Team Cherry regarding Hollow Knight: Silksong at E3 2021. Unfortunately, fans have not had much of a chance to see just how Team Cherry plans to shake things up with Silksong, as the team hasn't shown too much of the game in action to the public in the years following its announcement. Though Hollow Knight: Silksong began as DLC for Hollow Knight, the game has since transformed into much more. It's been some time since Hollow Knight: Silksong was first revealed by Team Cherry via a developer diary trailer back in early 2019.
